After meeting your guide at a location of your choice, you will proceed to the Trunity Gate or Borovitsky Tower and enter the Kremlin through the Borovitsky Gate. Once on the Kremlin grounds, you will enter the Armoury and, after checking in your coat, begin your visit. The exhibition is arranged over two floors, connected by the museum’s grand staircase.
During the Armoury tour, your guide will take you around the following collections:
- Coronation dresses of the Russian tsarinas – ceremonial gowns worn for coronations, richly decorated with embroidery and precious materials
- Vestments of the higher clergy – garments embroidered in gold and adorned with thousands of freshwater pearls
- Thrones of the Russian tsars – historic seats of power used in official ceremonies
- Diamond-studded crowns and royal regalia – symbols of imperial authority and coronation tradition
- Gilded carriages of the Russian royalty – ornate state vehicles used in processions and court ceremonies
- Horse trappings and harness – ceremonial sets crafted from precious materials for royal use
- Gold icon frames, chalices, and illuminated altar Gospels – religious objects decorated with sapphires, rubies, and emeralds
- Gold and silver plate from the tsars’ banquet tables – richly crafted serving pieces used during formal court banquets and state occasions
- Arms and armour associated with the Russian tsars – both ceremonial and functional pieces reflecting different periods
- Ambassadorial gifts – lavish diplomatic offerings ranging from large gilded silver platters and goblets to complete dinner services
- Fabergé eggs – intricately crafted, bejewelled Easter gifts commissioned by Emperor Nicholas II for the Empress and Dowager Empress
Optional extensions: A privately guided tour of the Kremlin grounds and cathedrals (+2 hours); a self-guided visit to the Diamond Fund Museum (+30 minutes).
At the end of the tour, your guide will take you back to a location of your choice or assist with booking a taxi. You may also continue with the Kremlin Grounds and Cathedrals Tour or a Red Square and City Center walking tour.
Included: Services of a licensed guide (up to 4 hours), admission tickets to selected sites for all participants.
The Armoury operates from 10:00 to 18:00 (closed on Thursdays), with admission strictly by timed sessions (10:00, 12:00, 14:30, and 16:30), ensuring a controlled number of visitors and a comfortable, uncrowded viewing experience. Kindly note that arrival more than 45 minutes after the scheduled session may lead to denied entry, with no refund applicable.
